Skills not increasing and what does the down arrow mean?

Postby ZUUL » Sat Apr 29, 2023 12:59 am

When I check my skills they all have a Up symbol next to them. If I click it it turns into a down symbol. Why?

Also I have leveled to 17 and none of my skills have increased yet beyond the 20 I got from the manuals.

Hi Zuul! The skills are based on different stats and you need to use the skill to increase it. For example, short swords are based on dexterity. You can raise short sword skill 2% for each dex, so you need 50 dex to get 100% short sword. As you attack monsters with a short sword, your skill will increase (you'll get a notification each time it goes up). The skills have a cumulative max. If you hit the skill max and raise another skill, then whichever skill has the down arrow will decrease to allow the new skill to increase. In general, you'll want to keep your least desire-able skill set with the down arrow, but the cumulative max is pretty high.

tbh, it really depends on what you would use each one for more, ely for pvm/rsb, same with rigour

I would say ely, bc rigour may go down a bit more.
